Don’t be scared by webinars

The thought of delivering live virtual sessions is a scary prospect for most people. Earlier this year I was invited to write an article on the potential pitfalls of virtual delivery from a Trainer perspective.

In the article for Training Journal, I wrote about how planning and preparation are key factors in seamless and successful virtual delivery.

The article covers four key areas to help you deliver high-quality live sessions that will exceed expectations and leave audiences wanting more:

1. You probably already have very well-honed facilitation skills and experience. You need to adapt and refine these skills for a virtual learning environment.

2. You need to understand the learner’s reality at the remote end in terms of what they see, hear and how they engage and interact.

3. Approach your content to work for whichever configuration you have chosen: group or groups, individuals, a mix etc.

4. Build in resilience and avoid the technological pitfalls.
